Where's Captain Pugwash when you need him?

Has anybody got any idea how to classify this musical offering from "Alestorm"?

I've tried, but every time I get as far as "completely bonkers", I just start humming the chorus again. Absolutely marvellous.

"Arrrr!!"

Thanks to Wyrdwhorl, for posting it at Wyrdsongs.
(Albus Dumbledore was right about music)

  1. Pirate Metal! A genre that has taken shape in the past few years (although Running Wild were way ahead of the game with their song "Under Jolly Roger" [1].

[1] The title alone is enough for a fit of the giggles.

  2. I'd call it Folk, plugged in or not. Bit reminiscent of The Pogues, a whiff of Thin Lizzy?
Anyway, never mind that, have a look at THIS!

It is a directory of daft websites - I love the 555-List - every 555 phone number from the movies and TV!

  3. Pirate Metal; Yup, that makes sense.
Unfortunately, I've failed to convince the rest of my band that this is the way we should go.
    Bah!

  4. Ah yes, the 555 'phone number.

What a ridiculous thing that is. Why aren't they allowed to use proper numbers? It would be only slightly less distracting if all the characters had to have their name preceded by the words; "Made-up Name"
